REVIEW ;
I went in thinking that after F-F7 , they would be pushing this franchise to the brink and the characters would be stale and no room for more development of these heroes . I was Pleasantly surprised , now this isn,t a Oscar winning movie for character development and there were a few minor plot holes , but this is a “over the top ” thrill ride “and writers Chris Morgan/Gary Scott Thompson , keeps the script “tight” enough so that the hardcore F-F fans will be happy with the continuity intact .
My issue with these types of films is the problem of ” Topping ” yourself from the previous films , the “over the top” stunts might grow stale and the problem will be, trying to keep the movies grounded in some reality while pushing the envelope without going “overboard “. ( The sub for instance , with the Rock and a torpedo ) . With Fast and Furious 9 ( in pre production with a 2019 release date ) and F-F 10 ( Announced for a 2021 date ) . One can only hope Vin Diesel and crew isn,t pushing this apple cart too far ….
OVERALL :
Great action and laughs and someone steals a part of the 3rd act of the movie , which makes it worth my while 4 out of 5 stars ( Go see and have your Popcorn ready !! )
